Strawberries is famous in United States, just behind vanilla & chocolate. add fruit flavouring on ice cream, strawberries offer balance of fruity freshness. Their sweet & tangy flavour contrasts with the richness of the cream, preventing a heavy feeling with each bite. A tub of strawberry ice cream also contains the real strawberries, with a hint of tartness & a subtle hint of berry acidity. with all the strawberry scoops in supermarkets, how do you choose a brand that offers.

The small artisan ice creams to not to much costly brands. I tasted them all to determine which of these creamy creations deserve the coveted spot in your freezer, and which ones might leave you cold, no matter what.

Friendly Strawberry Ice Cream comes in packaging, with cute retro font & colors, but contents of box are far from homemade treat you might hope for. This is not strawberry ice cream that the real thing. Instead, it offers an artificial, almost, making it seem more lab made than farm-fresh.

The list of ingredients reads like science fiction novel. it is packed with hard-to-pronounce additives. Who wants a mouthful of glycerine? Not me.

Texture-wise, Friendly’s remains committed to saving money. The ice cream is filled with air, depriving you of the creaminess of premium ice cream. Instead, the ice cream melts quickly & lacks smooth texture makes a true treat. but it’s drowned out by artificiality and a mediocre texture. rare pink streaks of berries feel like decoration.

rather, the lack of it. This ice cream is almost white, which immediately sets tone. the juicy fruit. overall impression with this variety as if it shared the freezer with real strawberries but never met them.

The texture is quite creamy, albeit slightly icy, but that’s not enough if the taste is disappointing. The vanilla ice cream base wasn’t particularly rich or delicious, lacking the milky freshness I crave in a scoop of strawberry ice cream.

Turkey Hill’s Strawberries & ice cream is comforting dessert… but I disappointed the first bite.
the fruit is barely noticeable. strawberry essence, but it’s too sweet & artificial. Instead of bright, juicy taste of real berries, result is a diluted and overly sweet product, lacking the crisp acidity and texture that strawberry ice cream is famous for.

The packaging proudly boasts “farm-fresh milk,” as if that’s enough to excuse the long list of additives it contains. Sure, dairy may come from a farm, but can the same be said for the cellulose gum, carrageenan, and other lab-grown ingredients that make up the label? Turkey Hill’s Strawberries & Cream ice cream seems designed more for preservation than flavour, which leads to some disappointing tastes.

Breyers Natural Strawberry Ice Cream is good. it’s certainly not the best.  It  is a perfectly acceptable option if you’re craving something fruity and fresh, but not the tub you reach for for a truly satisfying strawberry moment. the plus side, it’s not artificial, & its base offers light, pleasant creaminess. strawberry flavour is present, especially for a flavour meant to showcase such an intense and juicy fruit.

It feels like a really creamy scoop. bit too airy & melts quicker than expected. Among the affordable grocery store ice cream brands found in almost every supermarket, Breyers is a great, no-nonsense option: it gets the job done without blowing you away. fruit-heavy ice cream, you will likely find better options freezer doors away.
