The headline act at E3 is, of course, Microsoft’s new Project Scorpio console. This new console features a powerful octa-core processor, 4K and virtual reality support, and a processor capacity of up to 6 teraflops several times that of a regular Xbox One.
The console will be released by the end of next year, & Microsoft’s marketing director, Aaron Greenberg,
has stated that Project Scorpio’s goal is to permanently break down the divide between console and PC owners. Project Scorpio
“This was really what Phil Spencer wanted. His vision was to allow users to play without limits and eliminate the barriers that separate console and PC owners. We believed that these barriers should not exist. As gamers, we don’t only play on one console or in the same room. We offer you the opportunity to acquire a game purchased from us digitally and access it on multiple devices, without having to repurchase it,” said Aaron Greenberg in an interview with Game reactor.
Aaron also discussed the possibility of updating the hardware platform, although Xbox CEO Phil Spencer previously stated the Project Scorpio that they had no plans to develop a console that could be upgraded like a traditional PC.
