One of my favourite times is buying Worst Costco Desserts . Since becoming a Costco member, I’ve discovered that many Costco desserts are worth buying repeatedly, while others are best avoided (I tried to include out-of-season items, even though Costco offers many holiday and seasonal treats). Unsurprisingly, every dessert I ended up loving bears the iconic Kirkland Signature brand.
To compare this dessert, I chose one I knew excellent & others that looks promising. Worst Costco Desserts After tasting them, I compared them based on texture and taste. The best desserts were those with the perfect texture for the food in question and exceptional flavour. Overall, I found the Signature brand to be the best performer. In fact, there are few Costco private label products that I haven’t enjoyed. Please note that for this tasting, I was limited by availability and was unable to try some popular treats, such as Costco’s Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie, for example.
Some recommendations are based on direct impressions of promotional materials and products provided by the manufacturer.
Worst: Gille Swedish Spring Cookies
The packaging for Gille Swedish Spring Cookies couldn’t be prettier, with its green and pink graphic and the cookies pictured on the front. The box contains raspberry slices, dark chocolate oat crisps, and oat crisps. None of these cookies were bad, but none were the kind I would look forward to as a snack or proudly serve at a party. With each cookie, the flavour wasn’t sweet enough, and the cookie was either too crunchy or too soft.
When I first tasted them, I was immediately transported back to those times I’d enjoyed a foreign treat and been disappointed by its sweetness. Cookies have a flavour that’s sorely lacking, which is why they’re one of the worst snack (let alone dessert) options you’ll find at Costco.
Best: Kirkland Signature Cheesecake
We fall in love with Costco Desserts so quickly. They’re hearty and easy to share, and for our family of three, it would take us a week to finish one. We firmly believe that life is too short to go without dessert, and the cheesecake has been our favorite since our first taste. At $19.99, it may seem expensive because it’s a basic cheesecake, but one bite is enough to win you over. While restaurants like The Cheesecake Factory focus on unique flavour’s, this one tastes like a cheesecake served at a steakhouse as famous for its sundaes as it is for its moist, flavourful cheesecake.
If your family enjoys topped cheesecakes, this one stands up well to additions, but the simplicity of a plain cheesecake is just as delicious. At Costco, the crust is made with graham crackers and a layer of crème fraîche, a delight that’s just as delicious as the cake itself. Me & my family tried cheesecake after discovering the Costco’s unforgettable tiramisu cheesecake. We are a bit torn on which one is better, and I think it depends on the situation. If you’re looking for a simple option that’s still delicious, the classic cheesecake is ideal. I want to clarify that some of my colleagues might disagree and consider cheesecake a Costco product to avoid, but I think the taste speaks for itself, even if the saturated fat content is a bit high.
Worst: Dessert Italiano Tiramisu Cups
Worst Costco Desserts On my very first visit to Costco, I saw these immediately and was intrigued. The packaging is elegant, as the tiramisu is served in glass containers. I had high expectations. They are perfect and seem perfect for a party, as a small treat. Unfortunately, I wasn’t won over.
Worst Costco Desserts After making tiramisu and tasting several fabulously selected tiramisu cups, these don’t deliver. The glass containers are a nice touch, but the flavours are seriously lacking in intensity. The taste was a bit bland. It reminded me of the times I’d tasted things like tiramisu without actually being a dessert. If you are never had original tiramisu which started out as happy accident, you might enjoy them. But for those who consider it one of their favourite desserts, the texture and taste are to die for.
